To start the new year off with a bang, we have two new Seminars happening in Term 1.
The first, occurring over two sessions on Thursdays, February 15 and 29, is on a topic which should have us all thinking: Heart Disease
Heart Disease is by far the commonest cause of death in Australin adults and the term “Heart Attack” is frequently used in the media, but do you know what it means, how it might affect you and what you can do to avoid it? These two sessions explain in lay terms exactly what the terms heart disease and heart attack mean, how and why they happen, what are the main risk factors, and how to best to minimise your risk.
The second, continuing on the theme, on Thursday March 7 is titled Heart Failure, designed to help you tell fact from fiction.
Both seminars are being held in Room 13/14 at The Pines, commencing at 1.30 pm.
Our Host and Tutor is Manningham member and retired Cardiologist Paul Kertes, with co-tutor Pauline DiNatale.
Ther has been a change in payment of fees for these seminars. While members can still enrol on line, we are asking members attending these seminars to pay their $2 class fee in advance of their session at the front office, in order to guarantee a place in the Seminar.
The $2 fee is now payable at the office, not at the door as was previously the case.
