Term 3 is now well underway. In the blink of an eye, we are more than halfway through the year. After the Term 2 break, it is good to be back for another term of stimulating courses and catching up with friends.
Our membership and courses continue to grow
Our membership has reached 1,754 and continues to grow. With increasing membership comes the challenge of finding more tutors and courses to meet the needs and interests of our members. As the New Course Coordinator, I actively seek new tutors and am always keen to hear from members who would like to share their expertise and offer a new course to fellow members. I would also like to thank members who have helped us identify and encourage prospective tutors who would be a great fit for U3A Manningham.
Please keep an eye on the website and in the newsletter for new courses advertised throughout the year. There is something for everyone. If you are currently on a waiting list, why not consider enrolling in a new course while you wait?
Thankyou luncheon for our tutors
On 22 July, we held a thankyou luncheon to honour our dedicated tutors and celebrate their outstanding contribution to U3AM. It was heartening to see such a wonderful turnout and to share the warmth, friendship and camaraderie on the day. The generosity of our tutors in sharing their knowledge, skills and enthusiasm is at the heart of our community. This special occasion was our way of expressing our sincere appreciation.
Some tutors have reached milestones in their years of service and it was a great pleasure to present them with Certificates of Appreciation – see Certificates of Appreciation for long-serving tutors for details.
We also enjoyed a delicious lunch, prepared by our wonderful Catering Team. Their hard work helped make the day a great success.
Thankyou luncheon for our combined volunteers
In addition to our tutors, many other volunteers make an invaluable contribution to the day-to-day running of U3AM. To express our appreciation, the Combined Volunteers’ Thankyou Luncheon will be held on 2 September.
Our volunteers wear many hats. They teach and coordinate courses, organise activities, welcome new members, manage enrolments, maintain our finances, oversee technology, prepare communications, support committees, and attend to countless behind-the-scenes tasks. Every role is important, and together our volunteers create the thriving community we are so proud to be a part of.
Volunteers, please save the date. I look forward to seeing you all on 2 September.
Reporting and managing incidents at U3AM
The safety of our members is our top priority. As part of our occupational health and safety (OH&S) procedures, we report and keep records of all incidents at U3AM. The Incident/Accident Report form is available on our website, with hard copies also available from the Office. Any accident or incident involving a member on our premises or at external venues should be reported immediately. Once completed, the form should be submitted to the Office without delay.
Directing enquiries to the right place
