Your old mobile phone could help save gorillas

Zoos Victoria is collecting old electronic devices to raise funds to help protect wild gorilla populations. Money raised through this initiative supports the work of the Gorilla Doctors, a team providing lifesaving medical care to critically endangered gorillas in Africa.

You can help by recycling your old mobile phone (in any condition), tablet, smartwatch or accessories like charges and headphones. If possible, please unlock and reset devices to factory settings before donating.

Devices can be dropped into the ‘They’re Calling on You’ collection bins at:

• Melbourne Zoo – inside the main entrance, next to the Information Booth
• Werribee Open Range Zoo – at the entrance, near the retail shop
• Healesville Sanctuary – outside the retail shop
• Kyabram Fauna Park – at the cafe and retail shop entrance.

Forum for Truth and Recognition

The independent Forum for Truth and Recognition (the Forum), which has been established under the Inquiries Act 2014, is now open.

The Forum is a safe and respectful space where people can share their experiences of child sexual abuse in Victorian government schools and certain non-government schools prior to the year 2000. People can participate in the Forum until March 2026.
