Testing and tagging of electrical equipment

Over the last couple of weeks, the U3AM Equipment Management Team has been working steadily behind the scenes to ensure that U3A Manningham complies with our statutory requirement for the testing and tagging of applicable electrical equipment. This important process helps keep all our members as safe as possible.

An image of a compliant tag is shown above. Some of our equipment may have different tags attached to it depending on the service provider, but the main thing to look for is whether the equipment is within testing dates.

It is the responsibility of all U3AM members to make sure they only use U3AM electrical equipment that has a current electrical appliance tag attached and it is within testing dates.

If you find any U3AM equipment without a tag, or with a tag that shows it is out of test date, please do not use it. Instead, isolate it from use where practicable, and inform the Equipment Manager by raising a notice through the Office staff.

Your cooperation will help ensure the continued safety of all our members.
