The Multi-instrumental Group, affectionately known as the MiGs, was formed in 2022. Some members have been lifelong musicians, while others have taken up an instrument more recently. Under the guidance of Peter Simondson, the group meets on Thursday afternoons to rehearse, sharpen their skills and learn from one another – all while having plenty of fun.

For some members, this has been an opportunity to continue making music that might otherwise have fallen by the wayside. But the group’s music isn’t just for their own enjoyment. The MiGs often perform at external venues, providing a much-appreciated service to the local community.

At a recent concert at Baptcare The Orchards Aged Care Community, residents tapped their feet to the music and enjoyed a lively, entertaining winter afternoon. Dressed to coincide with the Daffodil Day theme, the group performed a varied program with something to appeal to everyone.
